WHAT IS THE ICEM 2022 GRAND MARKETPLACE?

Imagine you are a tourist, and you have a spare 90 minutes. You decide to browse a famous marketplace. Perhaps the attractive, diverse Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne or the bright and cheerful Grand Bazaarin Istanbul. How about the bustling Borough Market in London or the charming Marche Monge in Paris, or the friendly St Lawrence Markets in Toronto. Not forgetting the buzzing Stanley Market in Hong Kong and the enchanting scents sold at the Dubai Spice Souk.

In ICEM 2022, we are creating something similar… an exciting Educational Grand marketplace!

First conceived by the IFEM Paediatric Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group, it allows ICEM delegates hands-on interactions with topic experts. The Marketplace consists of a small number of ‘stalls,’ in which subject matter experts present content on a well-defined area of importance to delegates within the specialty. Like other lively markets, each vendor loudly entices you to come to their stall to hear what educational tips they have to offer.

They sell knowledge!!!!  (Actually – they give it away for free!)

This is a unique way of providing personalised education. Each stall provides clinical updates as well as foundation knowledge. You have complete control as to pick and choose, mix and match your educational interest and needs in an exciting and entertaining way! Perfect if you are just browsing for a couple of facts, testing your knowledge (a fun way for trainees to prepare for exams!!!),and chatting with experts.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

WHY VISIT THE ICEM22 GRAND MARKETPLACE?

We have 2 marketplaces. A live, face to face marketplace at Melbourne ICEM22 and a virtual online marketplace.

The face-to-face marketplace starts with you being greeted at the entrance and orientated to how it works. Then you start your own educational Grand Marketplace journey. Talk to as many vendors as you want. Chat to other delegates to share knowledge. Share your vibes, enthusiasm, knowledge and laughs in that space with everyone.

The virtual marketplace will be slightly different as each stall is a breakout online room with a maximum of 15 people at any one time.

At the end of your journey, rate your stalls, as the most popular stall vendor will win a prize. Be prepared for every vendor to entice you, that’s part of the fun. But remember, it’s your marketplace journey!!!

WHEN WILL IT BE HELD?

Face to face Melbourne: Friday 17 June (1:30-3.30pm) AEST

Virtual Marketplace: Friday 17 June (8:00-9:30pm) AEST
